CTE Articulation Agreements

CTE Articulation Agreements

CTE Articulation Agreements are designed to help high school students make smooth transitions from high school to college or technical training courses without duplicating classes.  Students can fulfill requirements for an associate degree or certificate while still in high school.  Some articulation agreements require students to earn college credit through “credit by exam” or earning a minimum of a “B” in the CTE course.  Articulation agreements save students money, time, and most importantly advance their learning in the CTE industry they are most interested in.

VUSD Articulated Courses with MiraCosta College:

MiraCosta College:  http://www.miracosta.edu/instruction/ctetransitions/index.html

CTE Transitions identifies high school courses comparable to MiraCosta College courses and creates articulation agreements between them.  These agreements allow a student who receives a B or better in an articulated course at their high school to earn college credit at MiraCosta without paying any tuition or fees.  Students complete a MiraCosta College application while in their high school class.  The application is necessary for receiving their college credit.  Credit applied to the students’ MiraCosta College transcript one semester after the student has finished the high school course.
